In May the Reichshof Hamburg will be reopening

The Reichshof Hamburg has a history of more than 100 years. In May 2015 the Event Hotel Group will be reopening the protected heritage building, the opposite the Central Train Station. It uniquely combines Hamburg’s history with the advantages of the modern Hotel Industry and receives its guests with 278 Rooms, Junior Suites and Apartments, as well as an extraordinary gastronomy concept. Established in 1910, the Reichhof was one of the leading Grand Hotels of the early 20th century. Even today, marble, shining copper detailing and elaborate wooden panels remind of the exciting flair of the “golden twenties”. Now these style elements, are carefully complemented by modern design and the latest technology. “The Reichshof is a unique mix of the charm of a bygone era and all the conveniences of modernity”, comments General Manager Folke Sievers on the concept of the hotel. Gastronomical facilites once again become a part of the lively center of the Reichshof Hamburg. The interior of the Restaurant has been designated as a historical monument, with a design based on a prewar luxury cruise liner combined with a new concept: The Restaurant “slowman”, which has its origins in the TV show “Rachs Restaurantschule” is moving from the “Hamburger Chilehaus” to the Reichshof. The priorities here are honest culinary artesanry and naturally pure flavours of “fair trade” and sustainably produced products, which are used by the chef Fram Bertram and his team. Also in the impressive, historical Hotelhalle everything revolves around good food, selected beverages and stylish entertainment. Excerpts from silent films and old black-and-white pictures are combined with a fitting soundtrack and take the guest on a journey back to the time of the “roaring twenties”. The culinary motto “Sushi & Sweets” applies here: during afternoons the Reichshof revives the british tradition of “High Tea” which was once so beloved in Hamburg, while offering hand-made sushi. The Bar 1910 at the Reichshof Hamburg pursues the tradition of perfectionist bartending. On the menu: A well-chosen selection of high-quality spirits – above all whiskys from all over the world – as well as contemporary cocktails and the best club-sandwiches in town. “The Reichshof should once again become the center of St. Georg. We look forward to a lively mix of neighbors, visitors to the theater, and of course our hotel guests who want to relax with a nice drink and the end of a long day of work or shopping.” 250 square meters are dedicated to relaxation and fitness at the Reichshof Hamburg. A sauna, steam bath and a fitness area are available free of charge to all hotel guests.
