Accessibility
We are committed to ensuring that our digital services are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities.
We are currently reviewing and enhancing our website to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These internationally recognised standards are designed to improve accessibility for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities
Measures to support accessibility
To support accessibility, we have already implemented a number of measures across our website, including:
- Alternative text has been added to images where appropriate.
- Pages use a clear heading structure (H1, H2, H3) to support screen reader navigation and improved content organisation.
- The website is is designed to support keyboard navigation across key functionality, enabling users to navigate interactive elements using standard keyboard controls, including:
- Tab and Shift + Tab for navigation
- Enter / Return to activate links and buttons
- Spacebar for buttons and checkboxes
- Arrow keys for menus, dropdowns, and radio buttons
- The website includes appropriate HTML language declarations to support screen readers and assistive technologies (for example, lang=”en-US” and lang=”de-DE”).
- Typography has been built using responsive rem units, enabling text to scale according to browser and device settings.
- We have reviewed colour contrast across the website and continue to improve areas where contrast may not fully meet accessibility requirements.
Known limitations
While we strive to make our website as accessible as possible, we acknowledge that some areas may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Known limitations include:
- Some colour combinations, particularly gold and white text combinations, may not always provide sufficient contrast.
- Video content does not currently include sign-language interpretation or audio descriptions.
- The website does not currently provide a built-in manual font-size adjustment feature.
- Our chatbot currently supports text-based interaction only and does not support voice messaging functionality.
We are actively working to identify and address accessibility issues, prioritising those that may significantly impact user access.
